'Bringing public services closer to citizens': Stéphanie Obertin unveils the new developments for Guichet.lu and MyGuichet.lu
Stéphanie Obertin, Minister for Digitalisation, presented the latest developments of eGovernment. She stated: 'The new developments on the Guichet.lu and MyGuichet.lu platforms once again reflect the efforts being made to modernise digital public services, but also to ensure the inclusion of all our citizens.'
Guichet.lu: a new ‘life events’ section
The Guichet.lu editorial team has just published a ‘Life events’ section on the portal. Accessible from the portal's main menu, this new section will make it easier for web users to find information.
Citizens will now find all the essential information on a single page for each of the life events presented. In the case of pregnancy, for example, this page provides information on the administrative steps not to be missed and leads, step by step, to detailed information sheets for each of these administrative procedures.
Ten life events are currently presented in this way, and the list will grow over the coming weeks.
MyGuichet.lu: a new video appointment booking service
Since 2019, you can make appointments with various administrations via your private space on MyGuichet.lu. While these appointments could be made digitally, until now it was necessary to attend them in person.
MyGuichet.lu now offers the option of a video appointment with a government official. The Guichet. lu helpdesk is the first administration to offer this alternative to a face-to-face appointment.
Like face-to-face appointments, video appointments are available to all government bodies. The National Health Fund (CNS) will be the second administration, after the CTIE, to offer this option to the public in November.
The new secure platform on which the video appointment takes place is the fruit of GovTech Lab's ‘Virtual Meeting Room’ innovation partnership. The European Union has funded this project as part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP).
Guichet Accueil: a public consultation on local counters
Today, the physical reception desk at Guichet.lu in Luxembourg City assists citizens with their administrative formalities and directs them to the appropriate public services. As part of the coalition agreement, the government has undertaken to extend these services to other regions of Luxembourg.
The Ministry for Digitalisation has just launched a survey to gather citizens’ suggestions to ensure that these decentralised counters meet citizens' expectations. The survey will run until 6 December and is available in three forms:
- an online survey on the Zesumme Vereinfachen portal, via www.guichetproximité.lu;
- a paper survey conducted directly with associations that are far removed from digital technology;
- an information stand where members of the public can complete the survey in digital or paper format at around twenty events across the country. The locations and dates of the stand are available at www.zesummendigital.lu.
The general public can also contact the Ministry for Digitalisation to have a copy of the form sent to their home by calling 247-72100.
