Sam Tanson was born on 4 April 1977 in Luxembourg.
Following her classical secondary school studies at Lycée Robert Schuman, Sam Tanson obtained a law degree at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in the year 2000. She continued her studies at the Institut d’études politiques in Paris, where she received her degree in 2002. In 2008, she pursued a master’s II degree by correspondence in environ-mental law from the University of Limoges.
At the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Justice, Dominic Raab, and the Dutch Minister of Justice and Security, Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius, Minister of Justice Sam Tanson participated in the conference "Supporting the ICC and its investigation into the situation in Ukraine".
Ministers and high-level representatives from the 38 OECD member and candidate countries met in Luxembourg in November 2022 to reaffirm their shared commitment to defending and strengthening the democratic values that unite them at the Ministerial Meeting on Public Governance, which focused on "Building Trust and Reinforcing Democracy".
On 2 March 2023, Sam Tanson, Minister for Culture, Lydie Polfer, Mayor of the City of Luxembourg, and Serge Wilmes, alderman in charge of Tourism, congratulated the 87 official guides of the City of Luxembourg who had successfully completed the training courses organised by the Ministry of Culture on "Luxembourg: old quarters and fortifications", classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After months of preparation, the EFAD, the film agencies and Culture Ministries from 13 countries launched, in presence of Culture Ministers Sam Tanson (Luxembourg), Rima Abdul-Malak (France) and Claudia Roth (Germany) during the 73rd edition of the Berlinale the European Solidarity Fund for Ukrainian Films.
