Sam Tanson was born on 4 April 1977 in Luxembourg.

Following her classical secondary school studies at Lycée Robert Schuman, Sam Tanson obtained a law degree at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in the year 2000. She continued her studies at the Institut d’études politiques in Paris, where she received her degree in 2002. In 2008, she pursued a master’s II degree by correspondence in environ-mental law from the University of Limoges.

  • On 8 December 2021, the awards ceremony for the National Literary Competition 2021 took place at the National Literature Centre in the presence of the winners. Josée Hansen from the literature and publishing unit of the Ministry of Culture represented Sam Tanson, minister of Culture, who was unable to attend.
