Claude Turmes was born on 26 November 1960 in Diekirch.

Claude Turmes, after completing his standard secondary education, he graduates in physical and Sports education from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve in 1983.

In parallel to his job, Claude Turmes studies environmental technologies at the Luxembourgish University Foundation in Arlon,  completed studies without thesis.
