Biography

Elisabeth Margue was born on 7 April 1990 in Luxembourg.

Education and qualifications

After graduating from the Lycée de Garçons de Luxembourg, Elisabeth Margue began her studies in Paris. She holds a Master 1 in Private Law from the Université Panthéon-Sorbonne (Paris I) and a Master 2 in Industrial Property from the Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II). In 2015, she obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the London School of Economics (LSE).

Governmental posts

Following the legislative elections of 8 October 2023, Elisabeth Margue was appointed Minister of Justice, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister for Media and Connectivity and Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister for Relations with Parliament on 17 November 2023 in the coalition government formed by the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) and the Democratic Party (DP).

Other political posts

A member of the CSV since 2007, Elisabeth Margue was president of the Christian Social Youth (CSJ) from 2016 to 2018. From 2019 to 2021, she was vice-president of the CSV before becoming co-president with Claude Wiseler from 2022 to 2023. She has been President of the CSV since December 2023.

At local level, Elisabeth Margue was appointed municipal councillor of Luxembourg from 2017 to 2023. She was a member of the Chamber of Deputies from October 2022 until she joined the government on 17 November 2023.

Professional activities

Elisabeth Margue has been member of the Luxembourg Bar since 2016. She worked as a senior associate at the law firm Arendt et Medernach.
