15 startups graduated from the Fit 4 Start #16 programme
At the end of the Fit 4 Start Graduation Showcase, organised at Luxexpo The Box on the sidelines of Nexus Luxembourg 2026, 15 startups that successfully completed the 16th edition of the startup acceleration programme managed by Luxinnovation were rewarded in the presence of the Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles.
Following a selection and pitching process that took place in autumn 2025, 20 startups were chosen from a record number of 495 applications from nearly 65 different countries. As in previous editions, the supported projects were in three categories: digital, health technologies and space.
In the end, 15 startups successfully completed the programme and graduated:

These 15 startups benefited from specialised support over a period of six months as well as funding of €50,000 each from the Ministry of the Economy, subject to incorporation in Luxembourg. Those companies that also succeed in raising funds and employing at least two staff members may receive up to an additional €100,000 in state aid.
"The Fit 4 Start programme is one of the main components of the action plan for the development of startups, scaleups and the entire ecosystem. It reinforces the crucial role of these startups as a key driver of innovation for our economy and a key element in the country's efforts to strengthen its international competitiveness," said Minister Delles.
Mario Grotz, CEO of Luxinnovation, highlighted the high level of the entrepreneurs who are building the future in Luxembourg. "This 16th cohort stands out not only for the high quality of its projects but also for its impressive diversity, covering sectors ranging from health and digital technology to space technologies. These startups demonstrate remarkable maturity and potential to respond to complex challenges with innovative solutions. We are convinced that they will contribute significantly to the dynamism and competitiveness of our ecosystem."
More than 200 startups supported
Initiated in 2015 by the Ministry of the Economy, the Fit 4 Start acceleration programme is managed by Luxinnovation in collaboration with Technoport, the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA), the Luxembourg City Incubator, the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT), the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity and LuxProvide. To date, the programme has attracted more than 3,500 applications from all over the world in response to its various calls.
"In a decade, Fit 4 Start has established itself as far more than a simple acceleration programme," said Felix Even, Junior Advisor - Start-Up Relations at Luxinnovation. "The ever-increasing number of candidates from all over the world attests to this. It evolves, year after year, to meet the needs of increasingly mature and specialised projects."
"The continued success and growth of Fit 4 Start is a testament to its crucial role in attracting and nurturing the talent that drives sustainable innovation within our economy," added Barbara Ries, Junior Advisor - Start-Up Relations at Luxinnovation, both in charge of the Fit 4 Start programme at the innovation agency.
Launch of the call for applications for Fit 4 Start #17: a new vertical with defence
During Nexus Luxembourg 2026, the Fit 4 Start #16 Graduation Showcase was the occasion for a major first in Luxembourg: an AI Master of Ceremonies, co-created by Luxinnovation and OpenZone. From the first introductory sentence to the final applause, the AI MC conducted the entire ceremony, blending data-driven accuracy with a surprisingly human sense of humour.
At the end of this particularly innovative ceremony, the call for applications for the 17th edition of the Fit 4 Start programme was officially launched by Minister Delles, with a major announcement: a new vertical has been added to the programme, defence, which joins the existing digital, health technologies and space.
"The integration of a vertical dedicated to defence is a decision that is part of Luxembourg's Defence Industry Strategy and the announcement of the Defence Campus. Luxembourg wants to create an innovation ecosystem to meet current sovereignty challenges," said Minister Delles. "By encouraging the development of advanced technologies in the field of defence, we are strengthening the resilience of Luxembourg and Europe. In addition, we are opening up a new field of economic growth with high added value. Fit 4 Start will provide the ideal framework to accelerate the development of promising startups in the 'defence tech' sector, thus promoting the emergence of dual-use solutions that will be crucial for our future."
A total of 24 startups will be selected in the four verticals: digital (10 places), health technologies and space (5 places each) and defence (4 places). The selected startups will be unveiled in October at the Luxembourg Ventures Days, following two days of pitches by the pre-selected companies.
