Meetings of Xavier Bettel in Washington, D.C., with Jamieson Greer and Lisa Kenna
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Xavier Bettel held bilateral meetings with representatives of the US administration during a visit to Washington, D.C., on 17 April 2025.
During the meetings, Minister Bettel highlighted the strong historical, diplomatic and economic ties between Luxembourg and the United States, as well as the importance of transatlantic relations based on shared commitment and mutual trust.
With U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, the minister discussed bilateral trade between Luxembourg and the United States, trade relations between the European Union and the United States, and common economic challenges.
At the Department of State, the minister met with Lisa Kenna, Acting Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, to discuss bilateral relations and a number of current international issues, including common security and technological challenges. Minister Bettel stressed the importance of close coordination between the United States and its European partners on these issues.
