Crisis unit met up following identification of the cause of the major technical incident at POST

Following the identification of the cause of the major technical incident that occurred on Wednesday 23 July 2025 at POST, the Prime Minister convened a crisis unit in the early afternoon of Friday 25 July 2025.

During the meeting, chaired by the Minister for the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles, the CEO of POST and his deputy clarified that this was a targeted cyberattack of a particularly advanced and sophisticated technical nature.

POST confirmed that the attack did not allow access to its internal systems and that no data was compromised or exfiltrated. The attack was intended to disrupt services. Technical analyses and investigations into the origin of the attack are currently being carried out by the competent authorities.

The HCPN is coordinating the detailed analysis of the incident at POST and its repercussions in close collaboration with all relevant actors, with a view to developing measures to increase the resilience of critical systems.
