This publication introduces readers to early music genres present on Luxembourg soil from the 3rd century onwards before illustrating the path forged by classical music since its advent in Luxembourg during the 19th century. Slowly but surely classical music has transformed the country into a vibrant music scene, from both a performance and a composition perspective. A great number of orchestras and musical ensembles, an infrastructure measuring up to the ambitions of musicians and audiences alike as well as early music education are all living proof of this phenomenon.
