Introducing 3G at the workplace: relevant social security provisions
As of 15 January 2022, legal provisions introducing the obligation to present a Covid-19 vaccination, recovery or negative test certificate at the workplace have come into force.

New COVID-19 cases - Weekly review: 3 - 9 January 2022
The number of people testing positive for COVID-19 has increased significantly from 5,643 to 10,680 cases (+89%) for the week of 3 to 9 January.

Adaption of the CovidCheck.lu app to the new 2G+ rules
Following the adoption by the Chamber of Deputies of the new rules for the 2G+ system, people with a complete vaccination pattern of less than 180 days, those who have received a booster vaccination and those who have a recovery certificate are now exempt from the testing requirement under the CovidCheck 2G+ system.

Adaptation of the COVID law
Following today's vote on bill no. 7943, the amended law of 17 July 2020 on measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic has been adapted on the following points.

COVID-19 vaccination: Booster for teenagers from the age of 12 and reduction of the time before the booster to 3 months
Because of the current epidemic wave and the threat of the omicron variant, the Government Council decided on 7 January 2022 to reduce the interval for the booster shot to 3 months after a two-dose vaccination (Moderna, BioNTech/Pfizer) and a "Mix & Match" vaccination (AstraZeneca in the 1st dose and ARN in the 2nd dose) and to open up the booster shot to teenagers aged 12 and over.

The number of people testing positive for COVID-19 has increased from 2,688 to 5,641 cases (+110%) for the week of 27 December to 2 January.

Announcement of the new board of directors of neimënster
Following confirmation by the Government Council, the Ministry of Culture is pleased to announce the new Board of Directors of the Centre Culturel de Rencontre Abbaye de Neumünster (neimënster). The board took office on 15 December 2021.

COVID-19: Shortening of the isolation period for COVID-19 positive persons, reduction of the validity period of vaccination certificates to 9 months and adaptation of the CovidCheck 2G+ system
On 4 January 2022, the Government Council approved a bill proposing to maintain the maximum duration of isolation at 10 days for persons who have neither a complete vaccination nor a booster vaccination within 6 months.

This document, which is directly linked to the National Aviation Safety Program, highlights variable elements such as the risks identified and includes concrete actions resulting from the European Plan for Aviation Safety, the DAC safety analysis and feedback from Luxembourg's aviation stakeholders.

COVID-19: Interval for booster vaccination reduced to 4 months from today and new Pop Up at the Central station Luxembourg
From today, the interval for booster vaccination after a two-dose vaccine (Moderna, BioNTech/Pfizer) and a Mix & Match pattern (AstraZeneca 1st dose and RNA 2nd dose) is reduced to 4 months instead of 6 months.
