End of validity of national Generic Authorizations for drones from January 2022

As of January 2022, the relaxed rules during the period of transition as provided for in Article 22 of the European Regulation (EU) 2019/947 will expire and flights performed on the basis of the national generic authorization will no longer be allowed

From January 2022, UAS operators will be permitted to operate in the following categories:

  • OPEN Limited with drones NOT marked class “C”
  • OPEN with drones marked class "C"
  • Under the guise of a Specific Operational Authorization

Important notice: The UAS operator must provide proof of a level of training equivalent to the European standards required for the OPEN A1/A3 categories and OPEN A2 if necessary.
