Protocols eased to facilitate the entry of Ukrainian refugees with pets
As a result of the war in Ukraine, many refugees are forced to leave their country in a hurry, often with their pets.
Under current regulations, pet animals entering the EU from Ukraine are subject to specific identification and vaccination requirements. In view of the situation, the European Commission, in collaboration with the Member States, has decided to derogate from these conditions in order to facilitate the entry of refugees with their pets.
In order to register their pets, pet owners are requested to contact a veterinarian. The Administration of Veterinary Services will also visit the shelter centres to help with the regularisation of the animals.
For further information, please contact the Administration of Veterinary Services by e-mail at info@asv.etat.lu or by phone at (+352) 247-82539, or download the registration form.
