Launch of the 2023 call for projects "Promoting intercultural 'living together' through associative life" in the framework of the National Action Plan on Integration

Participation in community life in Luxembourg is an important step towards integration into Luxembourgish society. In this respect, the Department of Integration of the Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region is launching a call for project proposals under the topic "Promoting an intercultural 'living together' through community life", to provide funding for projects promoting integration in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in 2023.

The call for project proposals 2023 is based on one main area of intervention, divided into three sub-sections:

Are of intervention: Promoting an intercultural "living together" through associative life

One of the objectives of the National Action Plan on Integration (PAN Integration) is to promote intercultural dialogue in order to support social cohesion while respecting the diversity of origins and cultures that constitute the Luxembourgish society. This objective can be achieved in particular through exchanges in everyday life and through networking activities at a local level, including participation in community life in the broadest sense.

Subsection1: Promoting cultural diversity within associations

Particularly targeted are projects that aim to:

  • Improve the visibility of local and/or national associations, as well as the cultural diversity of their members;
  • Attract and retain new members from immigrant backgrounds;
  • To enhance the existing cultural diversity within local and/or national associations.

Subsection 2: Strengthening associations in their management of cultural diversity

Particularly targeted are projects that aim to:

  • Equip associations in the management of cultural diversity;
  • Eliminate potential socio-cultural and linguistic barriers during activities implemented in associations;
  • To accompany associations in the implementation of intercultural projects to counteract and prevent the seclusion into one's own community of origin.

Subsection 3: Strengthening relations between municipalities and associations

Particularly targeted are projects that aim to:

  • Promote collaborations between municipalities and local and/or national associations working to foster an intercultural "living together";
  • To develop and test innovative concepts of networking between associations and municipalities at local and/or regional level, in order to strengthen and/or promote cultural diversity in associations;
  • To improve the local and/or regional visibility of associative activities and volunteering needs among new residents, especially those with an immigrant background.

The call is part of the implementation strategy of the National Action Plan on Integration (PAN Integration) and provides funding of at least 25,000 euros per project.

Details of this call for project proposals and all necessary documents can be found on the following website www.famille.gouvernement.lu.

The deadline for submission of project proposals is 9 September 2022.

Two hybrid information sessions will be organised on Tuesday 12 July 2022 at 10 a.m. and Thursday 18 August 2022 at 2 p.m.

Associations, without direct links to political parties and trade unions, private organisations, public institutions, professional chambers and training/research institutes are requested to confirm their participation at pan@integration.etat.lu, indicating the session they wish to attend.
