During her speech, Corinne Cahen thanked and congratulated the CAI signatories for their commitment and their willingness to participate actively in living together in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. "Intercultural living together and the active participation of the entire population, whether Luxembourgers or foreigners, are essential to build our future together and to make Luxembourg the best country in the world," she emphasized.

The Minister encouraged the signatories to participate in the social life of Luxembourg, for example by volunteering in clubs and associations or by actively participating at the local and political level. She also expressed the wish that the signatories become the new ambassadors of the CAI.

Finally, the Minister took the opportunity to thank the many institutional and associative partners of the Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region for their commitment in favour of living together.

The Welcome and Integration Contract (CAI)

The CAI programme is offered by the Department of integration to non-Luxembourgers living in the Grand Duchy. The contract allows signatories to benefit from the following services:

  • An orientation day allowing CAI signatories to familiarize themselves with numerous administrative procedures and official entities as well as community life in Luxembourg in a friendly atmosphere.
  • A civic education course (6 hours) on the traditions, the values, history, culture and political system of the Grand Duchy.
  • Luxembourgish, French and German language courses at reduced rates.
