Xavier Bettel at the informal "Gymnich" meeting of EU foreign ministers
The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel, took part in the informal "Gymnich" meeting of EU foreign ministers, which was held in Brussels on 3 February.
The first working session was devoted to relations between the European Union and Africa. The discussions focused on the need to better understand the requests of African countries, to better implement the commitments made by the EU and to adapt European aid to the dynamic context of the African continent.
Minister Bettel and his European counterparts then discussed the situation in the Middle East, in particular in Gaza, and the need to alleviate the suffering of the civilian population. The EU's continued support for Ukraine was also on the agenda, as well as the EU's relations with Turkey.
