Working visit by Luc Frieden to the Prime Minister of the Netherlands

On Monday 4 March 2024, Prime Minister Luc Frieden paid a working visit to his Dutch counterpart, Prime Minister Mark Rutte, in The Hague.

The two heads of government agreed to strengthen cooperation on a range of issues, notably in the field of renewable energy, including hydrogen, as well as current European challenges such as defence, agriculture and competitiveness.

They also discussed urgent international issues such as the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. During the visit, the heads of government agreed to hold an economic mission within twelve months.

Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden then continued his visit to the Instituut Clingendael in the Netherlands, an internationally renowned think tank, where he discussed the European agenda for the next five years with researchers from the institute.

The visit concluded with a discussion with Luxembourg students studying in the Netherlands at the Luxembourg embassy in The Hague.
