Luc Frieden and Gilles Roth on a working visit in Dublin
Prime Minister Luc Frieden and Minister of Finance Gilles Roth travelled to Dublin on 9 March for an exchange of views with their counterparts, the Taoiseach (Prime Minister) of Ireland, Micheál Martin, and the Tánaiste and Irish Minister for Finance, Simon Harris.

The working visit took place in the context of the upcoming Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which will begin in July 2026. It provided an opportunity to discuss key current European and international issues in a spirit of close cooperation.
The discussions focused on the next steps in the ongoing efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of the European Union, notably in the field of financial services.
