Stratégie nationale de la Recherche et de l’Innovation
The National Research and Innovation Strategy aims to support research and innovation activities in such a way that they contribute to the realisation of the ‘Luxembourg 2030’ vision of a sustainable knowledge society. To this end, it defines research priority areas that are considered particularly important for the country's societal, ecological and economic development. It also lays the groundwork for a regulatory framework and governance that promotes the targeted development of the research ecosystem. Initially adopted by the Government in December 2019, the strategy was updated in January 2026 to reflect developments in the field of research and innovation over the past five years. The four main priority research areas defined in the strategy are broken down into sub-areas, detailed in the ‘National Research Priorities’.
