During the traditional New Year’s wishes, Romain Schneider took the opportunity to brief on agricultural policy, particularly in regards of measures for young farmers.
Indeed, the new CAP after 2020 defines the support for young farmers, who often face significant difficulties in raising capital in the start-up phase, characterised by high investment and low profitability, as one of its main priorities.
Another topic discussed at this meeting was solidarity farming, which is a great opportunity for new entrants to farming.
Minister Romain Schneider also welcomed the commitment of the "Lëtzebuerger Landjugend a Jongbaren" in education through the "Fro de Bauer" platform.
"In the context of climate change, this consumer awareness program is essential in order to improve the perception of agriculture."
Finally, the Minister of Agriculture Romain Schneider and the representatives of the "Lëtzebuerger Landjugend a Jongbauren" are looking forward to continue their excellent cooperation in the upcoming year.
