Launch of phase 5 of the vaccination campaign

The first invitations to those covered by phase 5 of the vaccination campaign will be sent out this week (week 14).

As already announced, following the decision of the Government Council of 29 January, the people concerned are residents aged 55 - 64, starting with the oldest (phase 5a), as well as people that may be at increased risk due to a pre-existing health condition (phase 5b).

The increased risks include:

  • Controlled diabetes, without complications
  • Uncomplicated arterial hypertension
  • Obesity (body mass index 30-40 kg/m2)
  • Pregnancy

Booking an appointment

The people concerned by phase 5a, i.e. those between 55 and 64 years of age, will receive an invitation from the Ministry of Health by post, with detailed instructions on how to make an appointment in the vaccination centre of their choice. Personalised assistance is also offered through a hotline specifically set up for this purpose under the number (+352) 247-65533.

People with a health condition that may put them at increased risk as defined in phase 5b, and who are under 55 years of age, can be registered for vaccination through their personal physician or specialist doctor from 8 April and will then receive an invitation by post.

Invitations will be sent out as and when vaccines are delivered. In order to respect the protective measures and to avoid queues, it is important to respect the time of your appointment.

Open waiting list for people who did not make an appointment during the phase 3 of the vaccination campaign

People who have been invited to be vaccinated in the phase 3 of the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 (people aged 70-74 years) and who have not made an appointment during this period, will nevertheless have the opportunity to be vaccinated in a vaccination centre at a later stage - more precisely after the closure of phase 4.

To this end, those concerned and wishing to be vaccinated can register between 12 and 18 April on a waiting list, via the link guichet.lu/vaccination-liste-d-attente. They will receive a new invitation in due course. Personalised assistance is also offered through a hotline specifically set up for this purpose under the number (+352) 247-65533.

This government decision, in line with the opinion of the National Ethics Commission, aims to offer all those who were unable to honour their first appointment the chance to be invited to a later appointment.

The Ministry of Health would like to remind people who fall into phase 2 - 4 because of their age, and who have not yet received an invitation to be vaccinated, to check their address in the National Registry of Natural Persons (RNPP) via guichet.lu/consulter-rnpp.
