Corinne Cahen and Paulette Lenert present the Covid-19 recommendations for managers of nursing homes, CIPAs and sheltered housing

The positive evolution of the overall situation has allowed a return to a "new normal" and the restoration of social life within the accommodation facilities. However, it is still too early to abandon all vigilance. Sporadic infections will always be part of the new reality of life. It is therefore important to avoid the entry and spread of the virus as well as clusters of infections in residential care facilities for the elderly.

Therefore, on 22 September 2021, the Minister for Family Affairs and Integration, Corinne Cahen, and the Minister of Health, Paulette Lenert, presented the new Covid-19 recommendations for managers of nursing homes, CIPAs and sheltered housing.

These recommendations are based on the orders of the Director of Health and the recommendations of the Ministry of Family Affairs, which were drawn up in consultation with the Directorate of Health throughout the pandemic. Thanks to the SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, the situation has changed. The new recommendations were drawn up by the Ministry for Family Affairs and the Health Directorate and approved by the Standing Committee for the Elderly on 21 September 2021. These recommendations, which replace the previous ones, will be regularly reviewed and, if necessary, adapted according to the evolution of the pandemic.
