Trends of the week:
COVID-19: slight decrease over the last week.
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV): accelerated circulation of the RSV virus.
Influenza: increase in the number of cases of influenza detected, but circulation remains at a relatively low level.
COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2
From 13 to 19 November 2023 (week 46), the number of people testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 dropped to 257 cases, compared to 294 cases the previous week (-12.5%).
The positivity rate fell to 21% compared with 24% the previous week. The viral concentration detected in wastewater is increasing[1].
The latest sequencing data available show a preponderance of the EG.5.1 variant (38.7%)[2].
Influenza
For the week of 13 to 19 November 2023 (week 46), the number of influenza cases reported by laboratories increased to 24 cases compared to 14 cases in the previous week, an increase of 71% compared to the previous week.
This data largely overlaps with LNS sentinel surveillance, which indicates increased circulation of rhinoviruses, SARS-CoV-2 and RSV in particular, but little circulation of influenza viruses [2].
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)
For the week of 13 to 19 November 2023 (week 46), the number of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)-positive individuals detected by the laboratories rose to 55 cases, compared with 40 the previous week, presenting an increase of 37.5%.
