Key topics addressed at this meeting, organised by the Danish delegation, included online child protection, with a focus on the regulation of ‘privacy and electronic communications’ and cookies, as well as the management of the EU's digital identity wallet (EUDI Wallet). Discussions also focused on building a more competitive and resilient European Digital Union, with special attention to the digital aspect of the recent Draghi report.

‘We have created an innovative legislative framework in Europe, but its pragmatic implementation is crucial to our competitiveness. We need to address the interplay between legislative texts and increase cooperation’, stressed Minister Elisabeth Margue.

Finally, a growing focus in digital strategies is the twin transition – ensuring the digital transition occurs in parallel with and supports the ecological transition, a topic that was also discussed at the D9+.

The ‘Digital 9+’ group – which includes 13 European countries and the European Commission – meets twice a year for informal discussions on current digital issues. Slovenia is now a full member, along with Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Denmark, Slovakia, and Luxembourg. Luxembourg's participation in this group aligns with its ambitious stance on digitisation.
