Festivities to Mark the 25th Anniversary of the Reign of His Royal Highness the Grand Duke

In anticipation of the 25th anniversary of the reign of His Royal Highness the Grand Duke, the following schedule of festivities is announced for Saturday 21, Sunday 22, and Monday 23 June 2025.

Saturday 21 June 2025

7.30 pm

Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess will be welcomed by the Mayor of the City of Luxembourg for an official tribute marking 25 years of reign, held in front of the Hôtel de Ville.

9.00 pm

On Place Guillaume II, Their Royal Highnesses will attend a concert by the American jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, accompanied by the Orchestre national de Jazz Luxembourg under the direction of Gast Waltzing.

10.45 pm

Following the concert, the Grand Ducal Couple will return to the Grand Ducal Palace to view a sound and light show on the Palace façade, retracing the 25 years of their reign.

Sunday 22 June 2025

On the eve of the National Day, Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess will visit Esch-sur-Alzette in the late afternoon.

Meanwhile, Their Royal Highnesses the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Hereditary Grand Duchess will visit the commune of Mondercange.

In the evening, the Grand Ducal Couple and the Grand Ducal Family will participate in the traditional celebrations in Luxembourg City. They will attend the torchlight procession and enjoy the customary fireworks display with the local community.

Monday 23 June 2025

The National Day will open with an official ceremony organised by the Government at the Philharmonie Luxembourg in honour of His Royal Highness the Grand Duke, attended by the Grand Ducal Family. This year’s theme is the 25th anniversary of His Royal Highness’s accession to the throne.

Following the ceremony, Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess, the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Hereditary Grand Duchess, and Prince Sébastien will attend the inspection of the guard and the military and civil parades.

Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Hereditary Grand Duke will review the troops.

Later in the afternoon, at the invitation of the Archbishop, a solemn Te Deum will be celebrated at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg, in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess and the Grand Ducal Family.
