Martine Hansen, Minister for Consumer Protection, participated in the annual reception of “Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg”.

In her speech, the minister highlighted the innovative and inspiring nature of the “Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg” (JEL) projects, which provide young people with enriching practical and collective experiences. She also emphasized the recent introduction of two awards, funded by the Directorate for Consumer Protection, as part of the mini-enterprises project: the “Consumer Protection Award” and the “Conscious Consuming Award.” These awards aim to raise awareness among future entrepreneurs about the challenges of responsible consumption and the protection of consumer rights.

The minister reiterated that raising awareness among young people on these topics from their first steps in the world of entrepreneurship is essential to creating an environment where consumer protection and a favorable economic climate go hand in hand.  She reaffirmed her support for JEL’s initiatives and expressed her delight that the Directorate for Consumer Protection will continue to collaborate to inspire and prepare young people to create a prosperous economic environment, respectful of the environment, and committed to a healthy social framework.

The minister praised the commitment and dedication of the volunteers, partners, teachers, and members of JEL, who, for nearly 20 years, have significantly contributed to the development of entrepreneurial spirit among young people. Finally, she also thanked the students who, year after year, bring JEL’s projects to life with their creativity, enthusiasm, and positive energy.
