12 new COVID-19 infections in Luxembourg
The Health Directorate informs that 12 new coronavirus COVID-19 cases have been diagnosed. At this stage, local transmission has been confirmed for two cases.
The situation is being evaluated at the moment.
One case was diagnosed on the Kirchberg site of the Robert-Schuman Hospitals (Hôpitaux Robert-Schuman, HRS). As a consequence, and in the interest of the protection of the public health, HRS has put the following arrangements on the Kirchberg site in place:
- Stronger access control at the main entrance
- Restriction of patient visits
- Reservation of the available parking spots for hospital personnel and medical staff
- Suspension of scheduled surgical interventions
- Substantial decrease in ambulatory consultations.
The public is invited to consult the FAQs available on the website www.gouvernement.lu/coronavirus for further information on the coronavirus and precautionary measures. A hotline for the general public operates under the number 8002 8080.
The government would like to remind citizens that in case of symptoms of an infection (cough, fever or respiratory problems), they shouldn't go to the doctor nor the emergency room, but call 8002 8080 or, in case of an emergency, 112. Moreover, they should refrain from visiting vulnerable people.
