New edition of the brochure "About... Languages in Luxembourg" by the Information and Press Service
The Information and Press Service (SIP) has just released a new edition of its brochure About... Languages in Luxembourg. Part of the "À propos..." series, which highlights various aspects of the Grand Duchy, this publication focuses on the country's linguistic diversity. In addition to a new section dedicated to the history of the Luxembourgish language, the brochure features expanded content and a renewed visual design.
The introduction retraces the origins and historical development of multilingualism in Luxembourg. The following sections explore language use in different areas of daily life − such as work, school, media, and politics − as well as the role of languages in culture. A final chapter highlights initiatives to promote the Luxembourgish language. Each section includes a QR code linking to additional resources.
The brochure is 32 pages long and is available in Luxembourgish, French, English and German.
Like all publications of the SIP, the brochure can be read, downloaded and ordered via the websites www.gouvernement.lu and www.luxembourg.lu, under the "Publications" section. Alternatively, orders can also be placed by email at edition@sip.etat.lu.
