Easy access to the Electronic Health Record via MyGuichet.lu
MyGuichet.lu announces that it is now possible to activate an eSanté account online via MyGuichet.lu and thereby access the Electronic Health Record (Dossier de soins partagé, DSP) through the Luxembourg State's secure interactive platform. This enables citizens to access their Electronic Health Record without waiting for an activation code to arrive by post. All that is required is a LuxTrust authentication product and a private space on MyGuichet.lu.
'Online access to the Electronic Health Record via MyGuichet.lu demonstrates our commitment to simplifying citizens' lives through the digitalisation of State services. This new functionality allows them to activate and access the DSP from a platform they already know well, while ensuring the confidentiality of health data,' states Stéphanie Obertin, Minister for Digitalisation.
'With this new feature, we are taking a major step forward in making the DSP more user-friendly. At the same time, the DSP is currently undergoing a functional upgrade to give it a key role in the implementation of the European Health Data Space, in the interest of patients,' highlights Martine Deprez, Minister of Health and Social Security.
MyGuichet.lu thus reinforces its position as the single point of contact (SPOC) for electronic communication relating to administrative procedures and State digital services, bearing in mind that citizens can also access another essential online service via the interactive platform using their MyGuichet.lu credentials.
How to access the Electronic Health Record (Dossier de soins partagé, DSP)?
The eSanté Agency automatically creates an eSanté account for every person affiliated with the Joint Social Security Centre (CCSS). This account must be activated in order to access the Electronic Health Record (DSP), the personal and secure electronic health record under the direct control of the patient.
Activation of the eSanté account can now be carried out within the private space on MyGuichet.lu, under the section 'My data'.
Once activated, the DSP can also be accessed from the private space: after logging in with their LuxTrust product on MyGuichet.lu, the user is redirected to the DSP via the authentic source 'Electronic Healthcare Record - DSP (Dossier de Soins Partagé)'. It should be noted that, in order to facilitate access for all, those who do not have a LuxTrust product may still activate their eSanté account and access their DSP via the eSanté portal (www.esante.lu) or through the MyDSP mobile application.
DSP features
In addition to placing the patient at the centre of the sharing of their health data among healthcare professionals involved in their medical care, the EHR also contributes to patient empowerment. Various DSP features enable patients to take an active role in managing their health.
Patients may in particular:
- consult their health data at any time, such as blood test results, X-rays, MRIs, etc.;
- grant access rights by registering a healthcare professional in their trusted medical circle, or by providing the presence code available in the DSP;
- grant access rights to emergency services;
- upload medical information themselves;
- express their wishes, for example regarding organ donation;
designate a DSP assistant, a trusted person authorised to manage the Electronic Health Record (Dossier de soins partagé, DSP) jointly with, or on behalf of, the DSP holder. This feature is particularly useful for people who feel less comfortable with digital tools, or for parents who wish to consult their children's DSP from their own DSP.
