Luxembourg requests detailed information from Mittal Steel
On behalf of the Luxembourg Government, the Minister of the Economy and Foreign trade, Mr. Jeannot Krecké, has today requested Mittal Steel to provide more details of its industrial plan for the proposed merger with Arcelor. This request follows the review of the "Mittal Steel - Arcelor Combination, executive summary" document received earlier this week.
Mittal Steel is being invited to present a detailed plan to a technical task force consisting of Luxembourg senior Government representatives and financial advisors. A much more detailed presentation by Mittal Steel will enable the Government to fully evaluate the industrial plan on economic, financial and social grounds without prejudice.
